The HOPE project recognises how security challenges are common problems for which a joint integrated action is required. Hence, and considering the need to develop cross-border and cross-sectoral cooperation, the HOPE project has cemented a Network dedicated to cooperation and information-sharing efforts.

Preventing and countering radicalisation leading to violent extremism has been identified as a European and global priority, especially in the face of growing and ever-changing security challenges.

Radicalisation is recognised as a dynamic, non-linear process, growing more complex as higher numbers of youth are being drawn into extremism via fast radicalisation processes, which undeniably benefits from the impact of the online space. Such has been apparent throughout Europe. However, it has been a greater concern for some South-eastern European countries, particularly the Western Balkans.

HOPE network members gathered in Ljubljana, Slovenia, to discuss the country’s particular challenges with radicalisation and violent extremism, including youth radicalisation and Foreign Terrorist Fighters (FTFs) transit.

A transnational event brought together P/CVE experts and practitioners from nine countries to share insights on the Bulgarian radicalisation challenges and solutions.

Project HOPE - Holistic Radicalisation Prevention Initiative held its 2nd Transnational Thematic Workshop on the 9th of December 2021, in the scope of EEA and Norway Grants Regional Funds Week.
